Getting There

By car, at the A47/A6003 roundabout, take the northwest exit into Ayston. Go across the crossroads onto Main Street and the church fairly quickly on the left, despire being mostly hidden behind houses.

Although the church entrance is not clear from the road, it can be accessed on foot via a grass path from Main Street by the phone box.

Limited parking is available, but please be mindful of residents and signage.

Although no buses pass through Ayston, the nearest stop (Surgery) is only a 10-minute walk away in Uppingham. More information can be found here: Bus times

Description

The small village of Ayston is a mile north-west of Uppingham, just off the A47. St Mary the Virgin Church dates to the 13th century but has had some later additions. The church and churchyard are set away from the road behind houses.
