NatureSpot is a Leicestershire based registered charity (1138852), established in 2009 with the aim of promoting the wildlife and wild places of Leicestershire and Rutland and helping to increase public awareness of, and interest in, local biodiversity. Our aims are:
To help the public to identify local wildlife and to learn about the natural environment
To create, with public participation, an online showcase of the wildlife and wild places of Leicestershire and Rutland
To encourage and facilitate biodiversity recording to support conservation need
To encourage more public visitation to local sites of wildlife interest and enjoyment in those visits
NatureSpot is a company limited by guarantee and has an Advisory Board comprising experts and professionals involved in local wildlife conservation, biodiversity recording and local natural heritage.
NatureSpot works in partnership with the main conservation organisations operating in Leicestershire and Rutland.
