The woodlands of Leicestershire are valuable spaces for wildlife and places for us to explore and enjoy.
But what is their history? What is special and unique about them? What are the threats they face?  And how do we ensure they have a secure future?

Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust manages a number of ancient woodlands across the county. Dr Andy Lear is a reserve manager for a number of woodland reserves in Leicestershire and will be talking about the importance of our local woodlands and how the Trust is improving their quality by reintroducing traditional woodland management.
You can find out more about the work of the Trust in Launde woods.
This meeting is organised jointly by South Knighton Community Events, who are hosting the event and Knighton Wild.
