Scarlet Pimpernel - May to October

Low prostrate or ascending plant with square stems. Leaves mostly opposite, oval, pointed with black gland dots beneath, unstalked. Flowers scarlet, occasionally pink or blue, 4 to 7 mm, petals with hairy margin, often slightly toothed at apex.

Common Bird'sfoot-trefoil – May to September

Variable but usually 10 to 20 cm in height, rather sprawling with a solid stem woody at base. Flowers yellow or orangey, sometimes tinged red. 10 to 16 mm in clusters of 2 to 7. Seed pod 15 to 30 mm straight. Habitat - short grass, road verges, etc.

Green Alkanet – April to July

A bristly plant usually of 30 to 60 cm in height. Stemsbranched, stem leaves unstalked. Flowers bright blue with a white scaly throat 8 to 10 mm in small long-stalked leafy cymes. Found in damp or shady habitats, woodland margins, hedgebanks and cultivated land.

Oxeye Daisy – May to September

Short to tall patch forming plant with short leafy stolons. Stems erect, ridged, often branched. Leaves dark green, oblong toothed, the basal leaves stalked, the upper clasping the stem and unstalked. Flowerheads white with a yellow disc. Large daisies 25 to 50 mm with long strap-shaped rays.

A RED KITE has been seen today Monday 14th May flying over the Orchard Estate and above our garden!Please be on the look out for these wonderful birds which have now found BA!
