Anaceratagallia venosa
Length 3 mm. This species has a high proportion of black markings (as opposed to chestnut-brown) transverse striations on the pronotum. The scutellum has undulating dark patches running along the edge, as well as a rounded, dark central mark.
Detailed examination of the specimen is needed to identify this species. A photograph alone is not normally sufficient because key features are not obvious and there are one or more similar species.
Dissection of adult male required to confirm species.
Grassland.
July to November.
Widespread in Britain but under recorded.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
