Ceraclea dissimilis

Description

Forewing length 8 to 10 mm in the male and 6 to 9 mm in the female. A rather uniformly pale brown species, though often darker towards the wing tip.

Rivers and lakes - can be attracted to light.

When to see it

June to September.

UK Status

Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.

VC55 Status

Uncommon or under recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland. A record from Loughborough in 2009 was the sole VC55 record until three specimens were taken at light in Sapcote during July 2013.
