Hare's-foot Clover - Trifolium arvense
Description
Low to short, hairy plant. Lower leaves stalked, upper leaves unstalked. Flowers whitish or pinkish 4 mm long, numerous in dense oblong or egg shaped, stalked, silkily hairy heads.
Habitat
Dry grassy habitats.
When to see it
June to September.
Life History
Annual or biennial.
UK Status
Scattered throughout much of Britain except northern Scotland, but quite local.
VC55 Status
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 43 of the 617 tetrads.
