Stenus clavicornis
A small greyish black rove beetle measuring about 6.5 mm and very similar in appearance to other members of this family.
Found in a wide variety of habitats including grass tussocks, moss and flood debris.
All year round.
Widespread and frequent in Britain.
Fairly common in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 103 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
