The site is located to the south of Empingham village and the A606 (Stamford Road). The most direct route is to exit the A606 onto Normanton Park Road, then take the first left at the crossroads. The site begins on the left after the small right turning.
It may be possible to park by the verge, but please be mindful of traffic and private land. Alternatively, roadside parking can be found in Empingham, which is a 10/15-minute walk away.

The verge on the east side of Ketton Road was designated a Local Wildlife Site in 2006, and is 520 metres in length. The main habitat is mesotrophic and calcareous grassland.
Recorded species include: Glaucous Sedge, Black Knapweed, Meadow Vetchling, Rough Hawkbit, Birdsfoot-trefoil, Cowslip, Meadow Buttercup, Bulbous Buttercup, Agrimony, Greater Knapweed, Field Scabious, Rest-harrow, Burnet Saxifrage, Hoary Plantain and Salad Burnet.
Other notable plant species include Ploughman's Spikenard.
