Getting There

Loves Lane lies between the A606 and A1. From the A1, exit onto Grantham Lane, turn right onto Empingham Lane and then left onto Loves Lane. From the A606, turn onto Main Street in Empingham Village, and then left onto Loves Lane by the post box.

It may be possible to park by the site, but please be mindful of traffic and private land. There is parking on the verge at the end of the houses as the southern end of Loves Lane, and roadside parking in the village itself which is a short walk away.

Description

Loves Lane verge was desginated a Local Wildlife Site in 2005, and is approximately 400 metres in length. The habitat is mesotrophic, calcareous and mixed grassland.

Wildlife Highlights

Recorded species include: Grey Sedge, Black Knapweed, Meadowsweet, Meadow Vetchling, Ox-eye Daisy, Common Restharrow, Agrimony, Greater Knapweed, Hoary Plantain, Salad Burnet and Small Scabious.
