Exton Roadside Verge
Selected Wild Place / Other Wild Places / Public Rights of Way / VC55 boundary
The verge begins just south of Exton village, from the Exton Road/Oakham Road crossroads, and runs until the Loves Lane crossroads.
Exton Road is easily accessible from the A1 (via Grantham Lane) and the A606 directly.
It may be possible to park by the verge, but please be mindful of traffic and private land. Alternatively, some roadside parking is available in Exton village.

Designated a Local Wildlife Site in 2003, Exton roadside verge includes both sides of Exton Road, and both verges are 3.6 kilometers in length. The main habitats are mesotrophic grassland, calcareous grassland and mixed grassland.
Recorded species include: Agrimony, Black Knapweed, Burnet Saxifrage, Common Restharrow, Field Scabious, Hairy Sedge, Ox-eye Daisy, Lady’s Bedstraw, Meadowsweet, Meadow Buttercup, Meadow Vetchling, Rough Hawkbit,
Clustered Bellflower, Greater Knapweed, Wild Thyme, Knapweed Broomrape, Marjoram, Salad Burnet, Small Scabious, Cuckooflower and Hairy Sedge.
