Is this impressive display near Rothley one of the Stereum crust fungi?  Can it be identified to species level from these pictures?  (Sorry the one of the underside is out of focus.)  I couldn't be sure which type of logs it was growing on.

Looking more closely at the middle photo, I now think that the circular spots on the branch are the attachment points of old brackets and that you can see one or two of the remaining brackets attached by "stalks".  Does that make Stereum subtomentosum more likely?

Look at the surface it has the "hairy" crystalline structures associated with hirsutum. Subtomentosum may be confused with turkey tail but not hairy curtain crust.
