It seems odd to ask the question "Where have all the insects gone?" at the time of year when insects are most abundant, but a new report illustrates the worrying long term decine in insect numbers. More....

Who cares about insects? Well no insects, no bats, few birds ... and not much food. The crash in insect numbers isn't just a UK problem, the report tracks declining numbers across Europe and North America. There is one note of optimism for NatureSpotters - the report highlights the importance of records contributed by amateur naturalists, so one thing you can do is to make sure you keep sending all your observations to NatureSpot.
