    Image Wanted

Do you take photographs of wildlife? NatureSpot welcomes photographs that further develop our Species Library.

In particular, we are looking for images of Merlin (Falco columbarius). Admittedly, these pocket rockets aren't the easiest birds to photograph, but as we approach peak time for Merlin observations, we are hoping that some of the excellent ornithologists in the County can help us with some Merlin pictures. This useful BTO video looks at two often confused falcons, the Kestrel and Merlin, and discusses the key features for separating the two. Note that all photographs used on NatureSpot must have been taken in Leicestershire or Rutland.
