The larvae of the fly Agromyza filipendulae mine the leaves of various plants including Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria). The mine is a long linear mine, never widening into a blotch at the end. Frass occurs in discrete grains, and, here and there in thread fragments, but never in pearl strings.
