    Found this on Billa Barra.

Found similar pictures and observations that Green Bottles go Bronze with age.

Well its wings are worn but its more like a red bottle.

Then theres the picture of another fly which is Bronze and otherwise green bottle like.

So is the red one an aging green bottle or another species or an anachronism ?

Neither are the familiar 'greenbottle' flies - Lucilia sp. The top one looks like Eudasyphora cyanella (a Muscid)

The bottom one is a Tachinid, possibly Gymnocheta viridis?

However you are right that several of the green flies turn bronzy with age.

aaah okay thanks, though both green still, only found the reference to turning bronze when older by chance and practically all show the green stage.
