Does anyone know what type of Beetle this magnificent creature is?
.
Copper bronze and about 35mm long, he stomped around my hanging basket this morning before jetting off like a big bomber.

It's a  Common Cockchafer (Melolontha melolontha) - a regular visitor to moth traps and bright lights, but rarely seen in its natural environment.
