City Nature Challenge Watermead Country Park
Watermead Country Park South, Leicester (Alderton Close car park)
The daily 'CNC Base Camps' are at various locations around the city and offer the chance for the public to drop in and meet wildlife experts, find out about events and be shown how to use the iNaturalist app to add their own wildlife sightings. You can borrow equipment such as nets and pots to go collect bugs or wildflowers and bring these back to challenge the experts - a great activity for children and families.
Get Wild at Watermead! This event will be led by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust, with a number of family activities running throughout the day, including making seed balls, mammal tracks trail, skull ID quiz and wildlife-themed crafts. A number of guided walks will also be taking place.
Note: the car park is pay and display so you need a ticket!
