    Admittedly the brightness on this image could be a little better.

     

    Could anyone identify this mouse? I thought it might be a field mouse, but I've seen plenty of pictures of either and it's a bit hazy.

    Field mice tend to have big eyes, large ears, long tails and leap about like racehorses at a great rate: house mice have smaller eyes and ears, shorter tails and run rather than jump. Also smellier if you sniff the area near where they were seen

    I'm not a mammal expert, but it looks like a Wood Mouse to me.

    I agree with the diagnosis.  I can just see what looks like a clear demarcation between those brown upperparts & a white underside which is typical of the Wood Mouse (another common name for Apodemus sylvaticus).
