Kirby Muxloe Castle has a sister castle in Ashby. It has mature trees, some impressive bracket fungi and a good number of other fungus species. Lots of old stonework.Regular visits recently from young(?) ravens. There is a shrub area which is quite wild.
Ashby Castle is worth a visit too.
There were multiple sightings of a pair of peregrines during lockdown, nesting on one of the towers, although photography was difficult.
