    March Records

We've looked back at the records to find the most commonly recorded species in March. Have you seen them?

Over the last 10 years NatureSpot has assembled more than a quarter of a million records covering all the species in Leicestershire and Rutland. We can look at the data month by month to find the most commonly recorded species each month. We receive far more records for birds than for any other group (well done birders!), but unless we remove these, we'd have the same list of species every month (Buzzard, Robin, Mallard, Blackbird, Wood Pigeon...). Looking at just the other groups gives us the list above for the most frequently recorded species in March. So here's a new NatureSpot Challenge - how many of the species on this list have you recorded this month - and can you record them all before the end of the month? We challenge you!
