    Can anyone identify this duck photo taken at QE Diamond Jubilee Wood on 7th November.

    Doesn't look like a Tufted Duck; could it be a Scaup? Really not sure!

    Hi Phil if it doesn't quite look like a scaup or a tufted duck it could be a hybrid, ie duck with a lot of white around bill plus a tuft on back of head. Another possibility is the ring-necked duck.

    Many female Tufted Ducks do have a patch of white above the bill so it is most likely to be this.
