MB Nats: AGM & Talk, The North Coast - a Botanical Odyssey
Online via Zoom
Following a short AGM, Ian Evans MBE will talk to the Society on 'The North Coast - a Botanical Odyssey'
The talk covers Ian’s survey work (along with others) for the BSBI from 2015-2019, along the Sutherland coast from Cape Wrath to the Caithness border, with inland hills, islands and some animal life thrown in. Ian was the Society’s first ever speaker on 13th Feb 1976 when he spoke on, 'Naturalists in Leicestershire'. At the time Ian was Assistant Director (Natural Sciences) Leicestershire Museums Service. Ian also spoke to the Society 19th Feb 1991 and the topic at that meeting was ‘The top left-hand corner’, this was just before he retired to his current home in Sutherland; the ‘top left-hand corner’.
Ian is keen for us to check out his work on their website: www.assyntwildlife.org.uk
Joining details will be emailed to members shortly before the meeting. Visitors are welcome, please contact Prue Crowley (firstname.lastname@example.org) to arrange for details to be sent. The talk is free to members. Visitors are requested to make a donation, suggested amount £2.
