NatureSpot is sad to note the passing of two notable Leicestershire naturalists. More...

Richard Iliffe, a long-term member of many county natural history groups, has passed away. Richard’s main forte were fungi but his interest in all aspects of natural history made him well-known and liked through our community of enthusiasts.

Maggie Frankum has also passed away. Well known for her enthusiasm for biological  recording in her Leicester garden and her interest in bees and plant galls, being active in the British Plant Gall Society since its inception, Maggie was also a founder member of the Leicestershire Entomological Society.

They will both be missed.
