This is a common species on nutrient-rich siliceous rocks such as granite. The thallus of this lichen is matt brown and has the appearance of dried mud.
Found on silica based rocks and stonework that are also nutrient rich.
All year round.
Common and widespread in Britain.
Quite common in Leicestershire and Rutland.
