Aculus tetanothrix
Description
Aculus tetanothrix is a mite that causes rounded, sometimes reddened galls to form on the leaves of willows, particularly White Willow. The galls are seen more often than their causer.
Habitat
Wherever White Willow is found.
When to see it
Summer and autumn.
UK Status
Thought to be widespread and fairly common where White Willow occurs.
VC55 Status
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
