Agapetus ochripes


    Forewing length 3 to 5 mm.

    Identification difficulty

    Stony rivers and streams, but most common in larger water bodies.

    When to see it

    Bivoltine with flight periods between May and October.

    UK Status

    A scattered distribution through Scotland, Wales, northern England and an area of central southern England.

    VC55 Status

    Seems to be quite rare in Leicestershire and Rutland. The Sapcote record of June 2013 may be the first confirmed adult record in VC55, the only previous record of this species is of a larva from Long Whatton brook recorded by the Environment Agency in 1999.
