Aquilegia Sawfly - Pristiphora rufipes
Pristiphora rufipes has a black abdomen and yellow legs. There are other similar species and detailed examination is necessary. It is associated with Aquilegia.
Wherever the larval foodplant (Aquilegia) occurs.
The larvae can be encountered whenever Aquilegia is in leaf.
The foliage of Aquilegia is eaten by the pale green caterpillar-like larvae.
Widespread but not well recorded in Britain which makes its true status difficult to determine.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
