Ascocoryne cylichnium
This fungus appears as a gelatinous mass of pinkish or purple coloured discs.
Purple Jellydisc is very similar and spore examination is required to confirm A. cylichnium.
Grows in clusters on the trunks and branches of a variety of dead woods, often in broad leaf or mixed woodland.
Autumn.
Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland.
