Hylesinus varius (formerly Leperisinus fraxini) and H. wachtli (formerly L.orni) can only be distinguished by microscopic examination.
Anywhere that Ash is present.
All year round.
A wood boring beetle associated with Ash.
Most records come from the southern half of Britain.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 19 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
