This caddis has a forewing length of 7 to 9 mm. The wings are dark brown with four white markings. There is a form interjectus which has black wings.
Rivers and large streams.
May to September.
Records indicate a mainly western and northern distribution in Britain. It can be fairly frequent where it occurs.
Rare or under recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland. The Barrowden record of 9th August 2010 is the first record from our area.
