Brown Willow Beetle - Galerucella lineola
Around 5 to 6mm long and light brown in colour. Many members of this family are almost identical visually, and detailed examination is necessary to confirm identification. The host plant is often the best indicator of the likely Galerucella species.
Associated with Willows.
Summer.
Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were 31 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
