Length 8 to 11.5mm. It can be identified by the reddish edges of the pronotum.
Found under logs and stones, even in well wooded areas.

Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.
Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 57 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
