Cladonia pyxidata


    A pixie-cup lichen with funnel shaped podetia tapering gradually towards the base, the exterior surface is often coated with granules, as are the inside of the cups.

    Identification difficulty

    Often in degraded, peaty habitats, but also on wood such as Hazel.
