Diploicia canescens
A grey-white lichen (greener when damp) with many folds and ridges, it often has a chalky bloom.
Found on rocks, walls, stonework and nutrient enriched bark, usually where somewhat shaded.
All year round.
Widespread, common in the south, becoming rarer and mainly coastal in the north.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
