Dolerus triplicatus
Length about 1 cm, wingspan about 2 cm. This is an orange bodied species. The thorax also has orange colouration, but with black markings. The wings bear the dark stigma typical of the Dolerus genus.

This species has a red ID rating and unless identified by a known expert you must provide a satisfactory explanation of how it was identified for the record to be accepted.
Areas where Juncus rush species are found.
May and June
Larvae feed on plants, and are associated with rushes of the Juncus genus.
This species is not at all common, and most records are from the southern half of England.
Uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland.
