A typical and very common Dolichopid with a metallic green abdomen. See the ID checklist below for the key characteristics.
- 5.5-7mm
- Lower post-ocular bristles black
- Legs mostly yellow with darker tarsi
- Tips of hind tibia dark
- Row of 2-5 anterior bristles on the mid and hind femora
- Middle metatarsus with single dorsal bristle
Damp habitats, wet grassland, woodland edge, scrub and hedgerows.
May to July.
Widespread in England and Wales.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
