A small weevil with a mottled dark and light brown appearance.
Peak time is summer.
Develop in willow catkins, completing their development in the fallen catkins and pupating on the ground.
Common and widespread in the southern half of Britain.
Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 20 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
