Epuraea melanocephala


    Size about 2.5 mm. A small brown species rather similar in appearance to other members of the genus but possible to identify with care.

    On flowers and the foliage of trees.

    When to see it

    April and May.

    UK Status

    Fairly frequent and widespread in England and Wales, but sometimes rather local in distribution.

    VC55 Status

    Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 31 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
