A small spider, male: 1.9-2.5 mm, female: 1.8-2.6 mm. It has a brown/blackish abdomen and blackish head.

Confirmation requires examination of genitals of mature specimens.
Found in a wide range of habitats.
Adults can be found all through the year, with peak numbers in summer.
The species is widespread in most of Britain, possibly becoming more scattered in the north.
Frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland but under recorded because of identification difficulty.
