Fringecups - Tellima grandiflora
Description
Clump forming plant with bluntly lobed, rounded leaves and erect racemes reaching 75cm tall bearing small, cream, fringed, bell-shaped flowers which may fade to light red.

Habitat
Sometimes naturalises from cultivated stock. Rocky places and moist wooded areas.
When to see it
Flowering late spring and early summer.

Perennial
UK Status
Widespread, but most frequent in northern and western Britain.
VC55 Status
Uncommon in the wild in Leicestershire and Rutland. It was not recorded in the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire.
