Greater Butterfly-orchid - Platanthera chlorantha
White flowers slightly tinged with green and faintly smelling of vanilla.
Woods, scrub meadows and damp heaths.
June and July.
Tuberous rooted perennial.
Widespread but never common in Britain.
Rare in Leicestershire & Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 9 of the 617 tetrads.
It is on the local VC55 Rare Plant Register (Jeeves 2011)
