Hare's Ear - Otidea onotica
A pale yellow or pale orange elongated cup with a split down the shorter side and edges overlapping rather than merely abutting, with the margin slightly incurved. 3 to 9 cm tall and 1.5 to 4 cm across, with a whitish stem up to 1cm long.

In broadleaf and mixed woodland, often alongside well-trodden paths.
Fruiting June to November in Britain.
Hare’s Ear fungus often fruits in small clustered groups.
Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.
Only occasionally recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
