Honesty - Lunaria annua
Medium to tall plant, forming a single lax rosette of leaves in the first season. Flowers purplish or mauve 25 to 30 mm in branched racemes. Fruit sub rounded 30 to 55 mm.
Cultivated land, waysides and waste places, often near to habitation.
April to June.
Biennial - Most recorded plants are probably naturalised from escaped garden stock.
A frequent escape from gardens in Britain though rarely persisting for long.
It is an occasional casual plant in Leicestershire and Rutland and usually found close to habitation. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 57 of the 617 tetrads.
