Hybrid Midland Hawthorn - Crataegus monogyna x laevigata = C. x media
Resembling its two parents Crataegus monogyna (Hawthorn) and Crataegus laevigata (Midland Hawthorn). The flowers of the hybrid usually have a mixture of one and two styles.
The County Recorder has asked for a specimen of this plant to be retained for verification
Hedgerows and scrub and woodland.
Flowering late April to June.
Widespread in Britain.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland is unclear as the hybrid is often overlooked by recorders. It was not recorded in the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire.
