A 10 to 12 mm long dark brown bronze diving beetle with pale stripes along the margins of the elytra.
A water dwelling species, but it flies well and may be attracted to light.
All year round.
Predatory on aquatic insects.
Common and widespread in Britain.
Common in Leicestershire and Rutland.
