Lecanora rupicola


This is a crust forming lichen which is chalky white to pale grey, smooth but extensively cracked.

Identification difficulty

Found on siliceous rocks and walls.

All year round.

UK Status

Widespread and fairly frequent, particularly in northern and western Britain.

VC55 Status

Uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland and particularly found in the Charnwood area.
