Length 5 to 7 mm. One of a group of similar species which require detailed examination.
They are typically found under or in carrion, rotting vegetation or dung etc.
Mainly April to October.
Widespread in Britain.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were approximately 15 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
