This pale brown fly is another member of the house fly family - Muscidae. It has yellow scutellum which distinguishes it from many other Muscids.
Various habitats including well wooded areas.
May to October.
Larvae associated with Lactarius and Russula fungi.
Widespread but not well recorded in Britain.
Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
