Neliocarus nebulosus
Description
A mainly green weevil with protruding eyes that are characteristic of this genus. The irridescent colour comes from minute round scales covering the body which if rubbed off show black beneath.

Found on a wide range of low-growing plants.
When to see it
Best late spring and summer.
UK Status
Quite widespread in England and Wales but not generally abundant.
VC55 Status
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 18 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
